Intarsia is a woodworking technique that uses varied shapes, sizes, and species of wood fitted together to create a mosaic-like picture with an illusion of depth. Each piece of Intarsia Wood Art is unique due to the different types of wood chosen for their color, grain and effect. If I run across an interesting piece of wood, whether it is Aromatic Cedar, Bloodwood, Black Walnut, Redwood Cedar etc, I will bring it home, and put it into my collection until a specific pattern lends itself for a particular piece of art. There are neither stains nor paints added to the projects, just the natural hues and grains of the wood. Each piece of the work is individually cut, fitted, raised/lowered and shaped to enhance the end effect of the art piece. Please click on the links below to see samples of work.
